About Us

History

After experiencing first hand the pain of growing up under difficult circumstances, Barbie Anderson became determined to make a difference in the lives of children who are in difficult situations. In 1999 she started “Camp Halo,” a summer camp for high risk children. Believing that these children needed a safe place during the school year as well, she decided to create a youth center in Corry. Hope Ministry opened its doors in November 2016 in order to serve children in Corry and the surrounding area.

The Youth Center offers various programs for all school-age youth of the Corry area. In addition to programs, staff provide food five days per week and help with homework and general mentoring. Above all, the center provides these youth with a safe place, replacing environments of drugs, abuse, and poverty with freedom to better themselves and enjoy life.
